My name is Barbara Mencer and I’m an athlete competing in a form of bodybuilding called Figure. Figure competitions are different from typical bodybuilding competitions in that they serve as a place for women to compete who wish to sculpt a muscular yet feminine physique.
By way of background, I am 51 years old and began my fitness journey just a few years ago. As you can see from my contest history attached, I’ve enjoyed much success thus far in my competitive career. I believe one is never too old to become fit and healthy and I hope my experiences can inspire others.

As you may imagine, the cost to compete is rather high and it is with this in mind that I’m writing you to respectfully request sponsorship of my 2011 competitive season. Sponsorship can include financial assistance, products or both, and I’m grateful for any help you can provide. Here’s a typical budget for one competition for your review and consideration.
I would be happy to provide sponsorship benefits in return for your support. Benefits may include:
- Competition and modeling photos which can include modeling with your products for use in your advertising (photographer and model credits must be included)
- Guest appearances or local demos at locations you have selected for any of your promotions during the sponsorship period (expenses to be paid by sponsor)
- Your company logo displayed on my website as a sponsor, including a link to your site
- Testimonials for products I am using for inclusion in any of your magazine ads, website and/or catalogues
- Continual exposure/promotion via Twitter and FaceBook
In addition, I’m open to discuss other marketing and promotion ideas, and if full sponsorship of my 2011 competition season is an option, I would agree to represent your company exclusively for the sponsorship period.
